Maletsunyane Falls

Up in the mountains of Semonkong lies the majestic ‘Maletsunyane Falls. Home to the Guinness world record for the longest single drop abseil in the world, the falls are truly a sight to behold. Visitors can experience the rich history of Lesotho as told by the local tour guides on horseback or while enjoying a drink and chat at the lovely Manong Restaurant which overlooks the falls.

For those who like revelry with their travels, the Maletsunyane Braai Festival takes place annually usually in the last weekend of November. Revellers can enjoy a weekend of braaing, camping, local and international music, and dance performances as well as adventures provided by the Maletsunyane Falls. Sehlabathebe National Park

The Sehlaba-Thebe National Park situated in the district of Qacha’s Nek, is the oldest nature conservation area in the country. Immerse yourself in the scenic beauty of our lush green landscapes and mountainous horizon in the meandering drive to the park. At an average altitude of 2400 metres above sea level, it is home to the endangered bearded vulture. It is also home to various flora and fauna.

Go fishing in the pristine waters of the Tsoelikane River and catch some organic, tasty, and fresh trout. Explore the vast 69.5km2 park riddled with sparkling streams, bushmen paintings, waterfalls, rock pools and rock formations enjoying a plethora of activities such as; picnicking, hiking, pony tracking, mountain climbing, abseiling, water sports and star gazing.
